Ashley Finch, DO

Founder & Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Ashley Finch is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized, and affordable primary care to the people of Southeast Texas. She practices with an osteopathic, evidence-based approach that emphasizes individualized, whole-person care and integrates physical, emotional, and social factors affecting health.

Dr. Finch believes patients deserve time, attention, and advocacy, and that medical decisions should be guided by evidence and patient needs rather than insurance-defined limitations on what is considered medically necessary. Through the direct primary care model, she is able to spend meaningful time with patients and remain fully independent in the care she provides.

  • Born and raised in Beaumont, Dr. Finch is a graduate of West Brook High School. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Lamar University. Prior to medical school, she worked as an emergency department scribe at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, where she recognized the critical need for improved access to high-quality primary care in her community.

Dr. Finch received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018. She completed her Family Medicine residency at JPS Health Network (Tarrant County Hospital) in Fort Worth, Texas. During residency, she completed a specialized Street Medicine track, receiving additional training in healthcare for individuals experiencing homelessness, harm reduction, and the management of chronic hepatitis C and substance use disorders, and was awarded a Humanitarian Award for her dedication to caring for underserved populations.

After residency, Dr. Finch returned to Southeast Texas to practice primary care at Legacy Community Health. In 2021, she was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor through Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and taught medical students rotating in Family Medicine. She founded Direct Primary Care of Southeast Texas in March 2024.

Dr. Finch has expertise in preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, and medical weight management. In addition to her core training, she has pursued extensive continuing medical education in obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, and menopause care, and actively incorporates evidence-based strategies from these disciplines to support patients with these clinical needs.

She is known for her compassionate approach and is dedicated to helping patients feel supported and heard.

  • Cat has worked alongside physicians caring for patients with complex medical and social needs in high-volume clinical settings and understands how time limits, overbooking, and rushed visits can negatively affect both patient care and the patient–doctor relationship. She is excited to work in a Direct Primary Care setting, where she can focus on personalized care and meaningful patient relationships.

A Southeast Texas native, Cat graduated from Memorial High School in Port Arthur before completing a Medical Assistant training program.
